Effects of Temperature and Loading Characteristics on Mechanical and Stress-Relaxation Behavior of Sea Buckthorn Berries. Part 3. Relaxation Behavior
نویسنده
چکیده
Relaxation force properties of single sea buckthorn berries under uni-axial compression were studied. Sea buckthorn berries had a time dependent behavior similar to other viscoelastic materials. The three-term Maxwell model with a maximum relative difference (MRD) of % 5 ≤ was chosen as the best fit equation to the relaxation data. For both Indian Summer and Sinensis cultivars, the firmness (as evidenced by the decay forces) decreased with temperature. As berry temperature increased from 4.5 to 34.5°C, F1 decreased 32.9 and 19.9% for the Indian Summer and Sinensis cultivars, respectively. Sinensis berries were significantly firmer than Indian Summer berries. For each cultivar, a master curve was proposed to determine the relaxation data of the sea buckthorn berries at temperatures between 4.5 and 34.5°C. Deformation level and loading velocity had a decreasing effect on relaxation time, but temperature had an increasing effect.

Effects of Temperature and Loading Characteristics on Mechanical and Stress Relaxation Properties of Sea Buckthorn Berries. Part 2. Puncture Tests
Puncture force and energy were measured at different loading velocities and probe diameters for two cultivars of sea buckthorn berries of various sizes at several ambient temperatures. In addition to the puncture properties, the firmness-temperature coefficient, the compression coefficient (Kc), shear coefficient (Ks), and the apparent modulus of elasticity were determined. The tests showed tha...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Study on Ratcheting Behavior of Plates with Circular Cutouts under Cyclic Axial Loading
In this paper, accumulation of plastic deformation of AISI 1045 steel plates with circular cutouts under cyclic axial loading is studied. Loading was applied under force-control conditions. Experimental tests were performed using a Zwick/Roell servo hydraulic machine. Under force-control loading with nonzero mean force, plastic strain was accumulated in continuous cycles called ratcheting. Nume...

متن کاملA Mathematical Approach for Describing Time-Dependent Poisson’s Ratios of Periodontal Ligaments
Periodontal ligament is a thin layer of soft tissue that connects root of a tooth to the surrounding alveolar bone. These ligaments play an important role in initiating tooth movement when loads are applied to teeth with orthodontic appliances. The majority of such soft tissues exhibit as viscoelastic bodies or have a time-dependent behavior. Due to the viscoelastic behavior of the periodontal ...
